Dr. Alicia Tezel Honored at BCMS Women In Medicine Leadership Awards

On November 21st, 2019 our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Alicia Tezel, was awarded with the Bexar County Medical Society Women in Medicine Leadership Award for Pediatric Healthcare.
Dr. Tezel has been with Little Spurs since 2006. Before joining Little Spurs, she worked as a pediatrician in the emergency room at the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio for 14 years (then called Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital). Now serving as the Chief Medical Officer at Little Spurs, Dr. Tezel prioritizes patient care within Little Spurs, working with her staff to educate the public on issues such as antibiotic stewardship and urgent care utilization.
Dr. Tezel has been married for 23 years and has four children. She is originally from Lima, Peru and immigrated to the United States in 1982 for college. Dr. Tezel received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her doctorate from the University of Texas Health Science Center.
