If your child has Medicaid and is in need of a doctor, you should always try calling your child’s primary care provider for an appointment. But if their doctor is unavailable, where should you go? Clearly if your child is very sick or seriously injured you should go to a pediatric hospital. But going to the emergency room can result in a time consuming wait and can be frustrating.

At Little Spurs Pediatric Urgent Care we have tried to contract with all Medicaid Plans so we can be available for children on Medicaid. Currently we are on the following Medicaid and CHIP programs: Aetna Better Health Plan, Amerigroup, Community First Healthplan, Community First Health Choice, Molina Healthcare, Sendero Health Plans, Seton Health Plan, Texas Children’s Health Plan, Superior HealthPlan and Traditional Medicaid. These plans make access to our facilities very easy.

If your child is not on one of the above plans and you wish to utilize our facilities, speak with your doctor about changing. If you change to another plan, you want to make sure your doctor is on that plan also. You can speak with your Medicaid representative or call 211 about changing your plan. Generally it will take about a month to be on the new plan. Visit our website at www.littlespurspedi.com for locations and services and please contact us with any questions!
