Strep throat is an infection that causes pain and inflammation in the throat. At our immediate care pediatrics clinics, we know it is very common in children from the ages of 3-15 years old. Our urgent care pediatrics clinic offers rapid strep testing in our clinics and can also send out more intensive labs. If your child is experiencing symptoms, visit us for prompt evaluation and care at our kid’s urgent care, Little Spurs Pediatrics.

About Strep Throat
Yes, we do if the urgent care pediatrics provider thinks it is necessary.
Our kids urgent care tests for strep in the throat before prescribing antibiotics. The reason for this is that not all throat infections are caused by strep and therefore antibiotics are not needed. In fact, only 15-30% of sore throats are caused by strep in children.
